Today Gramma and Bopi (Katie's parents) went back to Indiana. I'm not sure who is going to miss who more! Jack has already told me that he misses them. I know for sure that I miss them. And i'm sure my mom cried at least until she got on the highway if not past that. And i know Greg will miss all the yummy food and having clean clothes all the time. So all in all, it's a sad day for us. We hope that they can visit again very very soon!
Here are some highlights (and lowlights) from during their visit...
Ok, i'll just start with the lowlights. As many of you know... Gabe was pretty jaundiced and had to be attached to a biliblanket which is basically a fiber optic pad that is attached to a machine by this tube that feeds the pad with a photolight therapy thing. The blanket was permanently attached to his back. But then the light on the machine went out, so he had to be put on a bilibed which is even worse than a biliblanket. This was better for him in that his body got more of the light, but he was put on this bed thing and then covered by a blanket that let his head out and his arms. He wasnt a fan of it and neither was I for that matter. But they did their job and now Gabe is perfectly fine. But as you can see in the pictures, this is why i called him my little gloworm!
here's a picture of Daddy and Jack giving "baby gabey" some love and attention while he was strapped to the bed.
Here's a just a close up of Gabe at 5 Days old. This is right after he started to turn into a pumpkin from the jaundice so his eyes are a little yellow in the pic.
Once Gabe was allowed to be off the machine, my mom and I decided to take the boys to the zoo. It was my first big outting and while i couldnt walk too fast, it was nice to be outside. This is just a picture of my mom and Jack playing on the bear statue.
On Thursday (the 25th) my dad got into town. Jack was very very excited for "Bopi" to be here. They played and played and played and gave Gramma a much deserved break. So gramma finally got to soak up some baby time with Gabe! Bopi and Jack played soccer outside lots. By the way, this is Jack's new obsession! He loves anything to do with soccer! We even got him some shoes from old navy that happen to have stripes on the sides and he calls them his soccer shoes and pretty much wont wear any other shoes at all!
We also went on an outting to find Jack a birdhouse. Finally, he and Bopi found one at petsmart and they hung it out on his "clubhouse". Jack was so excited he wanted to show everyone!

OK-He's a keeper! The pics of Jack are awesome too. Glad to know he's doing fine and that Jack loves school and Ms Jill! Oh, to be that carefree again!!!
All is well here. Andrew and Tasha's little boy is expected on November 24. So who knows we may have a little Turkey on thanksgiving day.
I know Tasha likes to blog etc too-so could you tell me how I can tell her how to set up something like your blog so she can do the same with Ethan, once he arrives!? Thanks, take care-hugs all around! Will keep you posted!
love, Janie
